Ice Breaker
Learning a language has four dimensions - Read, Write, Listen and Speak. The mother language will always be easy because lot of learning happens before a person speak.
Question: what age a child speaks?
Chat GPT answer: Typically, children begin to make sounds and babbling noises around 3-6 months of age, and start using their first words around 12-18 months. By the age of 2, most children have a vocabulary of around 50 words and are able to put two words together to form simple phrases. By the age of 3, most children have a vocabulary of around 900 words and can form more complex sentences.
This is the natural evolution when everyone around you speak the same language. The Brain builds the language capability as an evolution.
When comes to learning a new language, it is not that easy.
Comfort Zone
As you grow old, 20s, 30s, 40s, you build lot of resistance and you are occupied with may things in your life : work, family, survival, day to day errands, etc.
Learning a new language is not that easy, but that is not impossible.
It will take 3 months to break that comfort zone and accept that you can learn the language. Your brain may push you to give up.
I have been in Denmark last 2 years, I did not attempt learning Danish in first year with an excuse that I will go back to my country. In the beginning of the second year, I have attempted, but gave up after 3 weeks with an excuse that my work is not allowing me to spend enough time to study Danish. Finally, at the end of 2nd year, attempted again, took 7PM to 9PM classes couple of days in a week to avoid the clash between work and Danish studies, survived for 4 months, broke that ice to come out of the comfort zone.
Key Takeaways
